Dave Cowley

Dave’s passion for caves, and his mastery of the rope skills required to explore them safely, led him to start his own industrial rope access career in 1998.

Working for a wide variety of specialist rope access companies, he has built up a tremendous wealth of knowledge and experience in all aspects of safe working at height, in all industry sectors, both onshore and offshore, worldwide.

Dave spent 10 years working with Mark Wright delivering specialist IRATA training courses and is one of the most experienced and respected work at height instructors in the industry.

Following 4 years carrying out the installation, examination and testing of a wide range of EN795 safety systems, with 2 of those years working with Nick Hayes, Dave joined the Safety Aloft team in 2021. He is our senior working aloft instructor and PPE, rail track, padeye and loose lifting gear examiner.
